Senior Director, Strategic Communications - Job Description

This role will lead the development, creation and implementation of end-to-end communications strategies ensuring we have one strong narrative internally and externally fully synchronized with our Global narrative.

What You'll Do for Us

  • Lead a team of senior communication specialists with a variety of expertise who develop and initiate strategies and content to drive measurable value for the business both through internal employee engagement and earned, owned and paid media
  • Provide subject-matter expertise, content and coaching to senior management to help them serve as effective spokespeople; provide support and guidance to manage potential issues and crisis.
  • Coordinate with global communications teams, bottling partners and other functions to ensure consistency of plans and messaging including the areas of sustainability communications.
  • Set strategy for internal communication and channels for operating unit (OU).
  • Partner with Marketing to drive consumer engagement through innovative Brand PR.
  • Goals and/or strategies focus on both short-term and mid-term priorities
  • Developing and leading insightful communication strategies that align with our marketing, innovation, and culture.
  • Fostering robust partnerships across the company, particularly with the executive leadership team.
  • Serving as the primary liaison for key stakeholders, streamlining communication and championing the company ethos.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in our organization to identify success metrics and ensure alignment.
  • Orchestrating seamless global messaging alongside international colleagues and bottler partners.
  • Cultivating strong relations with influential entities and positioning our executives on prominent global platforms.
  • Mentoring senior leaders, enhancing their capacity as impactful spokespeople.
  • Synchronizing with global communication experts to maintain a unified voice.
  • Constantly innovating to stay ahead of the curve, employing breakthrough techniques to engage our audience.
  • Establishing yourself as a trusted advisor, exercising discretion with sensitive content and providing astute counsel to our Executive Leadership Team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s or master's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years in communications roles with a focus on strategy and stakeholder engagement, including at least 5 years in a leadership position managing teams and large-scale projects.
  • Ability to conceive, articulate, and execute complex communications strategies that align with business objectives and enhance company reputation.
  • A track record of success in executive communication and a commanding presence.
  • Exceptional writing and narrative skills, with the ability to craft messages for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with cross-functional global teams, ensuring consistent messaging and a cohesive communications stance.
  • A comprehensive understanding of multimedia, visual storytelling, and contemporary communication platforms.
  • Proven competence in designing and enforcing intricate communication strategies.
  • The ability to work autonomously and make decisive plans, project choices, and resource distributions.
  • Exceptional judgement, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and provide strategic counsel to high-level stakeholders.
