We are looking for a skilled professional to develop technical drawings and plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications. You’ll play a vital role in collaborating with engineers, project managers, and site teams to create efficient, high-quality HVAC designs.
Responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a Mechanical Draughtsman, your work will directly impact the efficiency and accuracy of our HVAC projects.
Expect to:
- Develop Detailed Technical Drawings – Use CAD software to create precise schematics, layouts, and component designs for HVAC systems.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders – Work closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to understand design requirements.
- Site Visits & Drawing Mark-ups – Attend ad-hoc site briefings, revise drawings, and complete final As-Builts.
- Ensure Compliance – Review and adjust drawings to align with building codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
- Resolve Design Issues – Coordinate with the project team to identify and solve technical challenges. Project Documentation – Assist in material take-offs, equipment schedules, and maintaining records of all drawing revisions.
- Stay Updated – Keep up with new technologies, industry trends, and best practices in HVAC design. Meet Deadlines – Ensure all deliverables are completed on time and to specification..
Required Qualifications
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience:
- Minimum 3 – 5 years of hands-on industry experience as Draughtsman within the HVAC field (compulsory).
Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Certificate or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License older than 12 months (essential for site visits) Autodesk / AutoCAD / Revit Certification (mandatory)
- Project Management Certificate or Programme (advantageous)
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE – WHAT SETS YOU APART
Technical Skills:
- HVAC System Knowledge – Strong understanding of ductwork, piping, equipment layouts, and schematics.
- CAD Software Proficiency – Skilled in AutoCAD and similar drafting programs.
- Building Code & Compliance Knowledge – Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices.
