New Retail Jobs: Executive Chef at RPO Recruitments is A luxury Restaurant in Johannesburg is seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Chef to lead their culinary operations. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious and driven chef with a strong hospitality background, the ability to take ownership of a restaurant concept, and the vision to elevate the dining experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on culinary leader to shape the kitchen’s identity, inspire a team, and potentially grow into a profit-sharing opportunity
Responsibilities
Oversee all kitchen operations and ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Lead, train, and inspire the kitchen brigade to achieve operational and culinary excellence.
• Develop innovative menus, seasonal specials, and unique dining experiences aligned with the hotel’s luxury offering.
• Take ownership of the kitchen and restaurant’s culinary identity, bringing creativity and vision to the role.
• Manage food costing, stock control, purchasing procedures, and inventory levels to maintain profitability.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, oversee deliveries, and verify invoices.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
• Work closely with hotel management to enhance guest satisfaction and overall dining experiences.
• Maintain strong kitchen administration and operational controls.
• Continuously improve culinary standards and develop a passionate kitchen culture.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef, preferably within a luxury hotel or fine dining environment.
• Must be based in South Africa.
• Strong leadership, kitchen management, and team development skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food costing, stock control, receiving procedures, and kitchen administration.
• Ability to create innovative menus and drive culinary creativity.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Passionate about food, hospitality, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Ambitious, driven, and motivated to grow with the business.
