Who can apply for the Nkangala bursary 2027
You must be a qualifying South African student who lives in the Nkangala District. That means one of these local municipalities:

- Emakhazeni
- Emalahleni
- Steve Tshwete
- Thembisile Hani
- Victor Khanye
Preferred fields of study
Preference goes to undergraduate Civil Engineering, Information Technology Engineering and Mining Engineering. The IT field includes Robotics and Software Development.
Limits of the bursary
The bursary does not cover outstanding student debt. If you owe your institution money, you must settle that yourself.
How to apply
Download and complete the prescribed Nkangala bursary application form 2027. In earlier cycles the form was hand-delivered to the district municipality, or to the youth office of any of the six local municipalities. Check the 2027 advert for the current delivery rules.
Documents from the earlier cycle
Earlier cycles asked for a certified latest academic record. They also asked for a certified ID of the student and of the parent or guardian, and proof of the parent or guardian's joint income. Successful applicants sign a contract with the municipality.
