What You'll Do

• Promote sound asset management practices and advise employees departmentally on asset matters
• Contribute to asset management systems, policy and annual physical asset planning
• Monitor and manage asset verification, capturing data on inventory/room lists
• Manage the movement, bar-coding and physical condition monitoring of all movable assets
• Approve movable asset register updates and manage asset disposal and transfer processes
• Supervise receipt/issue of assets, perform quantity and quality control
• Reconcile BAS and the Asset Register, request journals to fix misclassifications
• Prepare financial information for statement purposes
• Supervise a team: allocate work, quality-control output, manage performance and development

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

• Grade 12 Certificate plus a National Diploma in Logistics Management / Supply Chain Management / Public Management (NQF Level 6)
• Minimum 3 years' experience at supervisory level in Asset Management
• Working knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, B-BBEE, LOGIS, BAS, BAUD and Modified Cash Standards
• A valid driver's licence

Nice-to-Haves

• Demonstrated leadership and project management ability
• Comfortable managing disposal committees and reconciliation processes end-to-end
• Solid computer literacy across financial/asset systems

Introduction

If you have a flair for events management, a strong understanding of brand identity and the project management skills to pull it all together, the Government Pensions Administration Agency has a permanent opportunity for you in their Communications team in Pretoria. This Assistant Director post puts you at the center of how one of South Africa's most significant government institutions presents itself to the public.

About the Company

As Assistant Director: Branding and Events, you will plan, coordinate and supervise all marketing events, branding activities and outreach campaigns for the GPAA, GEPF and National Treasury. From national roadshows and mobile office visits to exhibitions and special campaigns, you will be the driving force behind how the GPAA engages with government employees and pensioners across the country.



You will also manage the GPAA's corporate identity — ensuring that all communications materials, templates, banners and promotional items are consistent with the approved brand guidelines. This requires someone who is equally at home managing logistics and budgets as they are developing creative concepts and briefing external agencies. It is a fast-paced, varied and genuinely rewarding role for a communications and events professional who is ready to lead.

Responsibilities

• Organise marketing events and activities for GPAA, GEPF and National Treasury
• Supervise coordination of all logistical arrangements including catering, venue options and equipment
• Supervise all special marketing and branding activities
• Coordinate promotional and marketing material for all events and campaigns
• Coordinate plans to publicise educational nationwide roadshows and mobile office visits
• Develop marketing and advertising material in line with approved messaging and corporate identity
• Enforce correct implementation of the corporate identity across all materials
• Conduct brand audits and develop checklists to ensure compliance
• Manage promotional items including production, procurement, stock holding and distribution
• Manage and develop the branding and events team
• Compile work plans and operational reports for the directorate

Required Qualifications

• A relevant three-year tertiary qualification (N Dip, B Degree or B Tech, at least 360 credits) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Brand Management or a relevant field
• Three to five years of experience in a Communications and/or Branding and Events environment
• Two years of supervisory or junior management experience
• Knowledge of: Communications role in organizations, brand management, publicity, event management and branding agencies, conceptualizing campaigns, budget management, human resources management
• Skills: Events management, project management, supervisory skills, interpersonal skills, negotiation, organizational and professional skills, creative approach, presentation, analytical, communication
• Personal attributes: Enthusiastic, organized, independent, team player, meticulous, flexible, able to build strong network relationships
