About the Company

You will also administer the subsidized motor vehicle scheme for eligible GPAA employees, liaise with the Department of Transport, Gauteng Roads and Transport, and National Treasury, and participate in the Transport Committee. This is a role that requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing both the administrative and operational dimensions of fleet management simultaneously.

• Validate fuel, toll and maintenance transactions before payment
• Monitor accident reporting within prescribed timeframes and pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure all departmental vehicles are licensed, roadworthy and adequately insured
• Coordinate vehicle servicing in accordance with maintenance schedules
• Administer the subsidized motor vehicle scheme
• Liaise with service providers appointed under RT Transversal Contracts
• Monitor pool vehicle utilization by MMS and SMS
• Manage and develop fleet management staff including performance, coaching and work plans

• Three to five years of experience in Fleet Management
• Two years of supervisory or junior management experience
• Knowledge of: Transport Policy Regulations, Staff Management, Administration and management principles, Client Relations Management, Technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance

TIPS TO STRENGTHEN YOUR APPLICATION
• Government fleet experience using RT Transversal Contracts and working with the Department of Transport is directly relevant. If you have this background, highlight it clearly.
• Experience administering a subsidized motor vehicle scheme is a specific advantage. If you have managed this process in a previous government role, describe it in your profile.
• Logbook management, fuel card validation and toll reconciliation are core daily tasks. Demonstrate your experience with these specific administrative processes.
• Your supervisory experience should describe the team you led — how many people, what functions they performed and how you managed their performance.
• Attention to detail is critical in fleet management. Errors in fuel claims, maintenance records or licence renewals can have real consequences — show that you take precision seriously.
