The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) is recruiting an Artisan Production (Welder), reference FSNC 2026/07/07, based at Mangaung. The post pays between R253,341 and R424,371 per annum, depending on grade and experience. Applications close on 13 July 2026 at 15:45.

About the Company
The Artisan Production (Welder) role focuses on delivering welding maintenance services across the Mangaung facility, fulfilling client work orders, applying quality control to manufactured products, and managing basic workshop administration — alongside training responsibilities for offenders and apprentices learning the trade
Responsibilities
As Artisan Production (Welder), you will:
• Train offenders and apprentices in welding
• Execute work according to requisitions and orders received from clients
• Apply quality control to manufactured products
• Cost products and supply quotes for jobs
• Carry out basic workshop administration
• Execute administrative and related functions
• Perform welding maintenance services
• Manage resources related to your trade
Required Qualifications
To qualify for this post, you'll need:
• An appropriate Trade Test Certificate underwritten by the Manpower Training Act (Red Seal)
• A valid driver's licence (not required for applicants with a disability)
• Technical analysis knowledge
• Competency in computer-aided technical applications
• Knowledge of legal compliance requirements
• Strong technical report writing skills
• Production and process knowledge
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
