TIPS TO STRENGTHEN YOUR APPLICATION

• Emphasise your locksmith trade test certificate clearly, since this is a specialised qualification with fewer applicants than more common trades.
• Highlight any security-sensitive work experience, given the correctional facility context — prior exposure to security systems or controlled-access environments is a strong plus.
• Mention health and safety compliance experience explicitly, since it's specifically called out as a duty.
• Note any training or mentoring experience, even informal, as it aligns with the offender and apprentice training component of the role.
• Flag Mangaung Correctional Centre experience if you have it — it's listed as an added advantage.
• Prepare for the two pre-entry assessments, including a practical trade exercise and an integrity assessment.
• Quote reference FSNC 2026/07/06 precisely on all documents to avoid administrative disqualification.
