Introduction

The Government Pensions Administration Agency has a permanent opportunity for a communications and branding specialist to join their Communications Unit in Pretoria. About the Company

As Senior Communications Officer: Branding and Events, you will be responsible for enforcing a strong and consistent brand identity across the GPAA, coordinating marketing events and campaigns, managing promotional items and supporting the delivery of exhibitions, outreach programmes and special campaigns for the GPAA, GEPF and National Treasury.
This is a hands-on, operational role that requires someone who can manage multiple events and campaigns simultaneously, brief and coordinate external agencies, maintain brand compliance and compile post-event reports. You will work within the broader communications team and will be expected to contribute creatively to concepts and plans while executing them to a high standard. It is an excellent entry point for a communications professional who wants to build their career in the government's largest pension institution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production of marketing and branding material in line with approved branding guidelines
• Ensure correct implementation of the Corporate Identity by encouraging adherence to the CI manual
• Conduct brand audits to ensure correct use of organizational templates, colors and email signatures
• Coordinate all branding projects and continuously monitor corporate identity
• Liaise with key role players regarding events requirements and provide planning support
• Organize marketing events and activities for GPAA, GEPF and National Treasury
• Coordinate all event logistics including catering, audio-visual equipment and venue options
• Develop concepts and briefing documents for all events and campaigns
• Coordinate national, regional and special events and exhibitions
• Develop events schedules and compile post-event reports
• Coordinate and manage promotional items from design through to procurement and distribution
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of publicity plans and marketing initiatives

Required Qualifications

• A relevant three-year National Diploma or Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Event Management, Brand Management or a related qualification
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in events management, branding or communications
• Computer literacy with good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Knowledge of: Communications and brand management role in organisations, event management and branding agencies, conceptualising campaigns, coordinating events from start to finish
• Skills: Strong events management, project management, development of events and branding plans, interpersonal, negotiation, organisational and professional skills, creative approach, problem solving, presentation, analytical, communication
• Personal attributes: Enthusiastic, organised, independent, team player, able to work without supervision
