What You'll Do

• Promote sound asset management practices and advise employees departmentally on asset matters
• Contribute to asset management systems, policy and annual physical asset planning
• Monitor and manage asset verification, capturing data on inventory/room lists
• Manage the movement, bar-coding and physical condition monitoring of all movable assets
• Approve movable asset register updates and manage asset disposal and transfer processes
• Supervise receipt/issue of assets, perform quantity and quality control
• Reconcile BAS and the Asset Register, request journals to fix misclassifications
• Prepare financial information for statement purposes
• Supervise a team: allocate work, quality-control output, manage performance and development

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

• Grade 12 Certificate plus a National Diploma in Logistics Management / Supply Chain Management / Public Management (NQF Level 6)
• Minimum 3 years' experience at supervisory level in Asset Management
• Working knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, B-BBEE, LOGIS, BAS, BAUD and Modified Cash Standards
• A valid driver's licence

Nice-to-Haves

• Demonstrated leadership and project management ability
• Comfortable managing disposal committees and reconciliation processes end-to-end
• Solid computer literacy across financial/asset systems

Introduction

The Government Pensions Administration Agency is looking for a skilled Organizational Design and Development specialist to join their team in Pretoria. If you have experience in job evaluation, job description development and organizational structure analysis, this permanent Senior Practitioner post offers a valuable and specialized career opportunity in the public sector.

About the Company

Organizational Design and Development is the science of ensuring that an institution's structure, roles and job grades accurately reflect its strategic objectives and operational needs. As Senior ODD Practitioner, you will facilitate the development and maintenance of job descriptions, conduct job evaluations using the EVALUATE/EQUATE system, analyze organizational structures and compile establishment reports, and provide advice and guidance to line management on ODD matters.


You will also render secretariat services for the Job Evaluation Panel — scheduling meetings, taking minutes and circulating agendas. This is a highly specialized role that requires both analytical rigor and strong interpersonal skills, as you will be engaging with managers at all levels to gather job information, conduct evaluations and communicate outcomes. A certified job analyst certificate is required, making this a post for a true ODD specialist.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the development and maintenance of job descriptions for all GPAA posts
• Ensure job descriptions are updated, reviewed and signed off before vacant posts are advertised
• Maintain the job description database and register
• Conduct organizational structure investigations and compile organization and establishment reports
• Assist with development of the organizational structure and work-study investigations
• Provide guidance to line management on organizational design and development matters
• Conduct job evaluation for all posts in GPAA using the EVALUATE/EQUATE system
• Input information on the JE system and determine post levels
• Prepare JE certificates of outcome and ensure results are implemented on PERSAL
• Render secretariat services for the Job Evaluation Panel including scheduling, minutes and agendas
• Maintain the JD and JE electronic database
• Render general support services to the ODD unit including filing, procurement coordination and document management

Required Qualifications

• A relevant three-year National Diploma or Degree in Management Services, Production Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or HRM plus an Applied Organizational Development Programmed or Management Services certificate (at least 360 credits, NQF6)
• Minimum three years of appropriate experience in an Organizational Design and Development environment
• A certified job analyst certificate is required
• Computer literacy with high proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• A valid driver's license
• Knowledge of: Organizational Design principles, EVALUATE/EQUATE System, Job Evaluation processes and models, Public Service Act, Work Study techniques, Public Service Regulations, PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Batho Pele Principles, White Paper on Transformation
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, planning and organizing, problem solving, written and verbal communication, presentation, report writing, decision making, customer service, team work, integrity, attention to detail
