Introduction

The Department of Defence is recruiting a Administration Clerk: Production based in Institute for Maritime Medicine (IMM), Simonstown. This position offers an annual salary of R237,453 – R279,708 (Level 05). This role combines reception, clinical administration, and health records work — no prior experience required, though a typing test forms part of the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an effective reception service
• Record, organise, store, and retrieve work-related information, dealing directly with clients as needed
• Capture patient health data and compile routine administration output control statistics
• Retrieve records for HCPs/management
• Render comprehensive clinic/ward reception and secretarial duties
• Process and capture health records on the Military Medical Main Frame
• Act as liaison between patients and Health Care Professionals

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent — no experience required
• Knowledge of clerical duties and practices, with the ability to capture data, operate a computer, and collect statistics
• Knowledge of the legislative framework governing the Public Service
• Knowledge of working procedures within the working environment
• Planning and organisation skills, language skills, and computer literacy
• Proven ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
• Please note: a typing test is required of all candidates interviewed
