Assistant Manager – Retail - Job Description
Introduction
Core Group is on the hunt for a hands-on, motivating retail leader to help steer one of its iStore branches. This is a part-time leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building teams as much as hitting targets
About the Company
Core Group operates iStore, described as Africa's largest Apple Premium Reseller, with a footprint of more than 40 stores across the continent offering sales, repairs, training, and business/education support built around the Apple ecosystem
Responsibilities
• Coach, mentor, and grow a team of retail staff
• Keep the store on track against financial, unit, and development goals
• Stay current on Apple product knowledge so the store is a genuine go-to destination for Mac users
• Oversee daily running of the store — staffing, stock, merchandising, and the customer journey
• Work closely with regional and head-office teams
• Track and report on performance, trends, and customer feedback
• Maintain visual merchandising standards that reflect the Apple brand
• Look for ways to continuously sharpen store operations
Required Qualifications
• At least 3 years leading teams in a busy, high-turnover retail setting
• Confident, matrix-style leadership that can pull different departments together
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable operating at pace while still thinking strategically
• A solid history of hitting sales numbers and delivering strong service
• Good reporting instincts, using data to guide decisions
