Responsibilities

As Supply Chain Management Clerk, you will:
• Render acquisition clerical support, including updating and maintaining a supplier database
• Register suppliers on the Supply Chain (LOGIS) system
• Receive and request quotations, and capture specifications on the electronic purchasing system
• Issue and receive bid documents
• Provide secretariat or logistical support during bid consideration and contract conclusion processes
• Place orders for goods, and receive and verify goods from suppliers
• Capture goods in the registers database and maintain the goods register
• Receive requests for goods from end users
• Render assets management clerical support, including compiling and maintaining asset records/databases
• Check and issue furniture, equipment, and stationery to business units
• Identify redundant, non-serviceable, and obsolete equipment for disposal
• Assist with stock-taking according to the stock-taking plan and verify the asset register

Required Qualifications

• A Grade 12 Certificate/National Senior Certificate or equivalent
• No prior experience required
• Basic knowledge of supply chain duties and practices, with the ability to capture data, operate a computer, and collect statistics
• Basic understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service
• Basic knowledge of working procedures within the working environment
• Computer literacy and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Planning and organising ability
• Teamwork, accountability, and transparency
• Ethical conduct, integrity, and time management
• Strong customer service orientation
