Within its Branch: Curriculum Policy, Support and Monitoring, the Chief Directorate: Public Examinations and Assessments plays a central role in coordinating and safeguarding the integrity of the country's examination system. Responsibilities
As Senior Administrative Officer, you will be responsible for:
• Providing administrative support to the Directorate: Public Examinations and the Office of the Director
• Coordinating directorate activities, including monitoring and tracking operational, management, and improvement plans
• Providing secretariat support for pre-standardisation meetings of NSC and SC examination results
• Consolidating reports for the directorate and maintaining accurate records and an archiving system for all documents
• Tracking and monitoring directorate expenditure
• Coordinating and providing secretariat support for DBE/Umalusi bilateral meetings
• Providing secretariat support for directorate management meetings
• Promoting communication, innovation, and creativity within the directorate
Required Qualifications
• A 3-year post-matric qualification (NQF Level 6) or an equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA
• A minimum of 2 years' administrative work experience
• Good understanding of how the Public Sector operates
• Strong interpersonal relations and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Good planning, organisational skills, and telephone etiquette
• Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook)
• Ability to plan in detail, work independently, and perform well under pressure
• Ability to multi-task, cope with a high workload, and manage general office functions
• A friendly, confident approach, with a willingness to learn quickly and a commitment to high-quality work
